Steve Miller Band traveling this summer behind unnamed album
Steve Miller Band kicked off a massive summer tour last week in anticipation of an upcoming, still unnamed, album.
The outing kicked off in Canada on July 8th, and will head down the West Coast and through the Midwest states through the end of the month. In August, the classic rockers will head Eastward via the south, eventually making their way up the East Coast and finishing things off August 29th in Cohassett, Mass. A few shows have been tacked on in November, as well.
The group will unveil some new material from their upcoming album, which was recorded last spring at George Lucas’ Skywalker Ranch. It has been said that this album leans further in the direction of blues and R&B. It’s expected to hit stores at some point this upcoming year.
Miller has created some of the biggest hits of the 1970’s, incliuding “The Joker,” “Rock’n Me,” Take the Money and Run,” “Fly Like an Eagle,” and “Jet Airliner.” He also left his mark on the 80’s with the hit “Abracadabra.”
